They are strong, but still have many things to learn from the more experienced old man. People like their sensei are powerful and known at the decent societies and often certain people wish them evil. The sensei refused the offer and that had some consequences further on. He has been kidnapped against his own will and his disciples decided to bring him back. They are four, but they can't act simultaneously, yet they can replace each other one by one and complete challenging tasks more efficiently. Each member of this fantastic squad has his own unique abilities such as double jump and air attack, ceiling crawling or hook that can deliver you to distant ledges. There are checkpoints where you can change a hero and continue with new abilities, but remember that you should swap them carefully or you risk to stuck at the level. Among the obstacles that are hard to reach there are also enemies with certain abilities and some of them are deadly. Saw launchers, laser robots, agile ninjas and even trained dogs and more. All this can wound you and you will lose health points. Dying to the saw carrier or the bomb will cause you to respawn at the previous checkpoint. There are also spots where you will be able to switch between these four heroes and there will be hints that will give you an idea what you should expect further. Depending on that information you can get the hero you need most, like there are levels where you need to perform double jumps in order to reach the high ground or exit. Sometimes there will be levels full of lasers and spiky floor so the hero that can walk on the ceiling will be the best choice. Mind that each hero possesses his own battle techniques, so while one throw shurikens the other use bombs to kill his enemies.
